Everyone in our team did a waste audit. We got all the recycling and waste from each classroom in our school. Then we weighed it all and saw what class produced the most rubbish and recycling. 11% of the total amount was recycled which is absolutely rubbish! Get it? Heeheeheehee!
By Amarae and Joe (Green Team Representatives) In the Autumn term 2017 we completed a waste audit with Sally from Future Resources (at Devon County Council). We organised all the rubbish from the day before. We weighed bags of all our different types of rubbish and Sally made a graph to show what we do with our rubbish. We were astonished at how much food waste goes in our normal bins - we should be composting this! We are going to work on it this year.
Here are some photos of what we did: We have set up a Green Team of Eco-warriors to fight for green issues in our school and community. We also like to get our hands dirty and get the job done! Read more of our blog to find out what we have been up to...
